My Brown Eyed Muse: Just another struggling soul trying to struggle through in a mildly artistic, productive way. I've shied away from getting a blog on principle; I shy away from life on principle. It (blogging)'s too easy, I told myself. You just decide you're an artist and suddenly there you are with your own page dedicated to you (the narcissism!); you did nothing to earn it. Blogging as a synecdoche representing society at large. A society of instant gratification, a society of mediocrity, a society that wants to eat the kernel without cracking the shell. As you may have noticed, I overthink like it's going out of style. This blog is a place to escape all that - a place to channel my feelings, my inner world, into, well, cyberspace, unencumbered, undiluted by the thoughts that slam like brakes on the car that is my creativity. Wow - that was hyperbolic. Which brings me to my last point about my blog. This a place to laugh at myself. A place to be imperfect. To screw up. To call myself out on my own hyperbole/cynicism/pretention/attempted-post-modernism. We. Take. Ourselves. So. Seriously. We. Think. We're. So. Profound. I am human being. Hear me sing.
